Day 75: Setting In

I was staying for my first night in Perth at the Billabong Backpackers. The other guests here were mainly young people on a Working Holiday Visa, and most that I met were travelling east to Sydney or Melbourne.

I would be travelling slightly further west in Perth, to stay with my host family, next to an area called Stirling! My hosts Philippa and Donald made me feel very welcome and ironically were from the South of England (near where I boarded my ship) and Scotland respectively.

I was keen to explore the area, so I walked to the beach. Again the UK links kept coming as I walked along from Brighton beach to Scarborough beach. I remember a family holiday to Scarborough in the UK, so it was strange being at Scarborough Beach in Australia.
